There are several possible scenarios once the IRS agent has reviewed your case:
- Acceptance of our offer – The IRS agrees with our assertions and decides the case in your favor without further information. This is the best of all worlds. You will receive official correspondence from the IRS which will permanently resolve your tax problem for the year(s) in question. We will also confirm this action with you and withdraw our power of attorney.
- Request for Additional Information – The IRS agent who reviews your case will request additional information. We will assist you in gathering information and present it to the IRS. On occasion we will object to the need for additional information and will resolve the matter in direct discussion with the agent. Once we submit the requested information the waiting game starts again.
- Denial and Appeal – If the IRS denies our request we will discuss your appeal options and move forward accordingly.
